How often are royalties paid to the author?
Royalties are paid bi-annually.
What kind of marketing and publicity will my book get?
Your book will appear in Crown House Publishing’s catalogues and the catalogues/newsletters of its distributors. It will be featured in the Anglo American Book Company’s newsletter, Changes, and will be sent to relevant publications for review. The book will also be promoted at any relevant book fairs etc. that Crown House Publishing attends. Crown House Publishing is also keen to promote books through
mailing campaigns, the media and websites.
Will I have any say on the cover?
There is a specific section on the Author Questionnaire Form that addresses the cover. We encourage the author to submit ideas that we can develop, and always ensure that the final cover is one that the author is happy with.
Who is responsible for the index?
The author is responsible for supplying a comprehensive list of terms for the index. Crown House Publishing has in-house technology that will number the index.
Who is responsible for commissioning/obtaining illustrations?
The author must supply all illustrations and diagrams, and these must be of a professional standard.
Are delivery dates flexible?
If manuscripts are not delivered on time, the marketing of a book is affected, and consequently, so are sales. Should unforeseeable problems in the production of the manuscript arise, we would be willing to negotiate new deadlines.
Will the book be sold abroad?
Our advanced network of global distributors ensures that our titles are directed towards, and available to, a world-wide audience.
How do I supply my submission?
Refer to our Specifications for Submissions section for a detailed description of how you should supply your manuscript.
Do I check for spelling?
Yes! Your manuscript will be copy edited and proof read, but we do not expect to read glaring errors that can be picked up by a basic spell checker.
Can I link my website to CHP?
We would be very interested to link our website to an author’s site, and vice versa – please e-mail our Webmaster at books@crownhouse.co.uk
Will my book be published in other languages?
Crown House Publishing is very active in selling book rights, for example, many of our titles are translated into German, Portuguese and Spanish.
Will I have access to publicity material for my own use?
We are glad to supply our authors with promotional flyers and catalogues.
Can I buy more copies of my book at discount once it is published?
We offer a generous discount to our authors on all of our books.
How long will it take for my book to be delivered?
We attempt to deliver your book within 6-8 months of our receiving your final manuscript.
